Martin Langan was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire in 1958. This is his first book in a series, recording his memoirs of time spent as a West Yorkshire Police Constable. He first joined the police in 1987 at the age of 29 after serving several years in the Royal Navy. His police career was spent in the Calder Valley area, predominantly in the small mill town of Hebden Bridge. Follow Martins exploits from rookie cop learning the ropes through to being a well respected PC gaining local and national policing awards for his work within the community he served. This first book will hopefully give the reader an insight into life on the beat from the mid 80's to more recent times. The memoirs have been taken from diaries and 'notes made at the time' and were originally written to pass onto his children and grandchildren. He hopes that the wider public will enjoy the stories too.
