Too late to learn to drive : Dementia, visual perception and the meaning of pictures

Bate, Helen J2014
Book
This book is an attempt to start a wider discussion about dementia and the problems this can cause in the understanding and enjoyment of pictures. Through her work at Pictures to Share, Helen Bate has seen how the right types of image have an undisputed power to improve the quality of life significantly for many many people with advanced dementia and their carers. But this is an aspect of dementia care that is largely misunderstood or ignored. Hopefully this situation has now begun to change, and people with more severe dementia and their carers are starting to benefit in very real ways.
