'Cover of darkness' tells of the early days of the war in the air when, in 1940, the author, then a Flying Officer, began flying operations in night fighters at a time when our defences were still very ineffective. Roderick Chisholm, born in 1911, eventually became Air Commodore in the Royal Air Force.
