This is the story of just one of many Jewish holocaust survivors, David Weiss. Born in Berlin during the rise of Adolf Hitler, David witnessed Crystal Nacht and experienced the effects of Nazi persecution. His parents were murdered in Sachsenhausen Camp, but had the foresight to obtain a false birth certificate for their only child and train him to deny his Jewish identity. Under torture he did not succumb. Insisting he was a German orphan, he became an 'Ant-Sociel Element' and a slave in Europe for four gruelling years. His post war life also bears witness to his remarkable capacity for survival. Written by Howard Long in collaboration with David Weiss during numerous interviews, including a trip to Israel in 2006.
