Kristin Scott Thomas, Patricia Clarkson and Cillian Murphy star in this British comedy drama written and directed by Sally Potter. After receiving a big promotion, career politician Janet (Scott Thomas) holds a party at her London townhouse to celebrate. Along with her academic husband Bill (Timothy Spall), guests include flashy banker Tom (Murphy), Janet's old friend Jenny (Clarkson) and Bill's old university acquaintances Martha (Cherry Jones) and Jinny (Emily Mortimer). Although the celebrations begin in a civilised manner, things soon get out of hand as dark secrets are revealed, dramatic confessions are made and tempers begin to flare.
