Abstract: Liz Dixon attempts to uncover the truth behind the threat to her best friend Sally's life, but is warned off the hit-and-run case by Detective Jack Beattie. For Sally's sake, however, Liz feels she must follow up her own leads. Then when Liz is drawn ever deeper into danger and intrigue she wonders if Jack's anger hides his real feelings for her. Can she crack the case and find love, too?
