Book
Abstract: Elodie Lafour, the only child of wealthy parents and just short of her sixteenth birthday, goes missing in Paris. With no ransom demand forthcoming, the authorities fear the worst. When another young girl, also reported missing in Paris, is found dead in Marseilles, Chief Inspector Daniel Jacquot is brought in to go undercover and search for Elodie. Jacquot was born and raised in Marseilles and knows its backstreets and boulevards better than most. But Jacquot's not the only one looking for Elodie. Old friends and bitter rivals are also closing in: the crooked cop, Alain Gastal, hoping for a big score to advance his career; Virginie Cabrille, the sadistic daughter of a gangland godfather; and the psychic, Marie-Ange Buhl, whose dreams sometimes tell a story...
