Brynescoles forest covered a large area of Northowram and Hipperholme, and stretched towards the edges of Bradford. Today we know the remaining part of this medieval forest as Chelsea Valley.This area played an important part in the history of Northowram with records going back to the early thirteenth century. This book is a compilation of earlier historical information, some new and recently discovered, together with others that were spread over many different sources. Now pulled together to describe a picture of the people that shaped this less well known part of the old Northowrram township before the 1800s. The central part of Northowram village has also been covered to help understand how it developed before 1837.
