Notes:
John Mitchell was a GP for thirty years and during this time was increasingly concerned about the deterioration in family life and the rapidly increasing incidence of divorce.Having become a Christian while in training he was also increasingly concerned about the decline in religious faith and practice, especially amongst young people. The book was originally intended as a letter to three friends who expressed a wish to know more about the Christian faith. Its title comes from a statement made by Einstein who said that he had "spent his whole life trying to catch God at his work."The aim of this book is to catch him at work in creation but also in his costly plans to overcome the evil that afflicts his world. This has involved a study of the books of both the Old and the New Testaments, a large number of other books and sources-and a lifetime of experience andobservation.
