Summary

Catherine Louise Stathem is a 49-year-old mother of two. She was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, in 1976 to a working-class couple who ran a sweet shop in the village. Her two children are Beth and Micky. Beth is working as a shop assistant, and Micky is at university in Liverpool studying tree surgery. Beth is 21 and micky is 19. Cathy married her childhood sweetheart, Paul, whom she met a school age just 14 years old, and he was 16 years old. He was a prefect at the secondary school they attended in Harehills, Leeds.After the difficult birth of their son Micky, Cathy suffered Postnatal Depression. As a result, their marriage suffered for several years, with a small appetite for sex, much to Paul's regret, the marriage went downhill. To escape the humdrum marriage, Paul took a job in Scotland working for the HMRC in Edinburgh, thinking that the distance between them might help their hearts to grow fonder, and their sex life to flourish. Earning far more money than they had previously lived on, and commuting back to the family home only at weekends, this at first seems to be the answer? Or was it??
